A Manchester fashion student has been presented with a cheque for £20.000 by the renowned Italian designer, Alberta Ferretti at this year’s Graduate Fashion Week gala.
The River Island Gold Award for the best student collection was presented to the Manchester University School of Art student, Rebecca Thomson, 22.
Her collection was based on the classic white shirt style, which was restyled in Brobdingnagian proportions of giant polka dot and striped ties, skirts with cascading pleats and lace bib collars.
Thomas Crisp of Ravensbourne won the Best Menswear Award, while Rhea Fields of Sussex’s Northbrook College won Best Womenswear Award.
The Zandra Rhodes Catwalk Textiles prize was won by Anna Lee of De Montfort University, and Northumbria Universities, Ledina Zhang won the BHM Knitwear Visionary Award.
Many of the top design houses designers started off by winning award like the highly talented people here and have gone onto furthering their careers by designing many of the high streets womens and mens ranges from women’s leather jackets and men’s leather jackets, to designer dresses and accessories.

Louis Vuitton, the luxury designer label noted for the leather bags and leather travel bags are celebrating the news that they are to open in London a new flagship store.
The new store will be on New Bond Street in the heart of the West End. The flagship store will rival the Louis Vuitton store on the Champs Elysees in Paris.
Marc Jacobs, the American designer and who is creative director of LV is expected to be there for the night.
The new LV flagship store was designed by the Peter Marino, the New York based architect who also worked on the Champs Elysees maison.
The store itself is 15,000 sq ft and its design is said to reflect the 21st century mood of London, while bringing together innovation, heritage and fashion, which M Carcelle says ‘these are all the values that are important to us’.

This is Emma’s third season at Mulberry, who is one of Britain’s top leather clothing and leather bag brands.
The company was originally founded by Roger Saul in Somerset in 1971. Over the years the brand has grown in popularity and the ever evolving styles of both the clothing and the leather bags, has allowed it to open ups more and more to all age groups. The right hand aide to the late and great Fashion designer, Alexander McQueen, has been named as the Creative Director for the London based fashion house.
Sarah has worked for Alexander for over 16 years, joining the company is 1996.
Her early years started from her roots in Manchester and in 1997 she graduated from Central Saint Martins.
She was greatly accredited with finishing the McQueen’s autumn/ winter 2010-11 collection, in time for the Paris Fashion Week back in March, following the tragic death of Alexander McQueen.
Many of McQueen’s ranges of beautifully crafted clothing include leather jackets for women.

This coming June 7th, 2010, the late and highly talented designer, Alexander McQueen, will be honoured with the CFDA Board of Directors' Special Tribute Award by the Hollywood actress and 'Sex in the City' star, Sarah Jessica Parker.
It was back in 2003 that Sarah Jessica Parker partnered Alexander McQueen at the Costume Institute Gala, where both wore matching tartan designer outfits.
SJP will be sharing the stage at the award ceremony with Caroline Kennedy.
The great Alexander McQueen was famous for his fashion designs for both men and women, which includes trousers, skirts, dresses and womens leather jackets to name just a few.

Kate Moss and Sir Philip Green were welcomed as they opened the new store amidst a host of celebs and fashtionistas.
The store was opened at 5.30pm on Thursday 19th May 2010 and went off with a flying start.
The new flagship store has a host of products which the women's leather jackets were and a pair of sandals were swiftly purchase by the editor in chief of American Vogue, Anna Wintour.
And how big is this new store, well, 14,000 sqr feet and over three floors of glass, steel and black marble.

On Sunday May 2nd at 10pm, Jackie gave birth 41 hours after her waters broke to a gorgeous baby boy. He weighed in a healthy 7lb 9oz with a full head of lovely brown hair.
Hi older brother Cole doesn't yet know what to make of the new arrival, but he is only 14 months himself.
'little man' as we call him until a name is chosen has two sisters, Niamh who is 5 and won't leave him alone, even during sicky and nappy changes, while Amber prefers holding 'little man' while texting, using msn and permanently on Facebook... all at once on her mobile.
Jackie herself is very well and getting used to juggling multiple tasks at once, with myself helping where and when I can when she lets me.
So nearly 3 weeks on and all at JLG Leather are doing swimmingly.

For along time in the public eye, people who dress or follow a certain way in life that is not seen as the norm have always been seen as different, not the same as the general public, odd and various other explanations, which really are not right to be said, but because over the last few years, fashion has taken a liking to the Gothic look. This has also been helped by the latest wave of modern romantic vampire television series and films that the teenagers and elders a like are enjoying. I myself are one that enjoys these televison series and films which leads me back to the fashion side.
JLG Leather strives to source, find etc leather garments that suit all styles and tastes which Gothic clothing is a very popular one. Becasue we only sell leather products, the most obvious products are the Gothic leather coats and Gothic leather jackets, though its the leather coat that is often seen as the choice rather than a jacket.

My personal view on this one is the colour. It looks so... great!!! when worn... Yes I love black, but with this style of jacket the Tan just makes it for me.

JLG Leather Ltd are in the process of having professional images produced of
our entire product range, which will also see at least a double in the size of products offered.
JLG Leather have and are very successful in providing leather jackets and coats for men's and women as well as various leather bags and luggage, but until now, the image quality of the products which is mainly the jackets has been poor, due to manufacturers images been used.
We have or should I say are, in the process of having the final touches made to a photography studio. We have the him and her mannequins all ready and waiting.
So keep popping back to the site, buying and looking at the new ranges been added, and soon the new images will be there.

We've work, and saved hard for our money, so when we want to buy something we want to make the money go further by either saving money, or stretching it to purchase something which was initially more, but we have quite rightly asked for discount on so we can afford the next level up or so.
You may have been saving for while for that special bag you have seen with designer label and man made fibre content, but ideally you you would love the leather option, which isn't too much more. We'll ASK for discount. The old saying goes ''if you don't ask you dont get''... goes for most thing really in life. Whats the worst thing they can say... NO!, well if they do then you have tried but please ASK!

'Kings Of Leon' - New Clothing Range
I was reading various online articles about fashion in general and came across an article about the 'Kings of Leon'. Apparantly they will have a wide selection of clothing from jeans, t-shirts and leather jackets. Prices for the leather jackets will be starting from over £700 which in todays climate is very expensive unless your'e a lotto winner or your'e mad about the KOL.
